The valve on my strut has come off again. I need to glue it back on. I have done this before using the glue I got with the repair kit with my kite. I now have no glue left. Can I use any type of glue or is there a special kind for kite repairs.

You can try using the same glue is provided in the bicycle tube repair kit. However, as you already experienced, it is recommended to buy a new bladder. All these repairs are only short time fixes, just to get you going back on the water for the day, however in long term they do not hold, especially when it come to the valves.

Good luck

for permanant repair use seam grip from clarke rubber making sure not to glue your bladder together by making sure both sides of bladder are kept apart when drying. Did this repair over 12 months ago and is still holding strong. Otherwise send 2 motti levy in tweed heads as advertised in kbm. Will have your bladder back within 3 days.

I have used 'liner repair glue' (about $9 from pool shops) with good, long term results. An easy way to stop the sides of the bladder sticking together is to cut a small (20mm) square of baking paper, roll it up and put it inside the bladder before you glue the nipple back on. Position the baking paper under the air hole before you glue. I have not bothered to take the paper out (just left it floating around inside the bladder). If you need to glue any punctures at a later date the paper can be repositioned under the puncture before glueing.
Hope this helps
In my experiance, the main cause of nipples coming unglued is heat. I once left some kites (uninflated)in a car on a hot day and from two kites there were 5 nipples that came unglued.

good idea to use the baking paper.
bicycle glue just works when the surface is very clean. use acetone and roughen the surface before you put glue on.
