Apparently Andy isn't world champ anymore. I find this disgraceful from a so called media publication. And don't try and tell me it was just a mistake with words, they of all people would know how choice of words affects readers perceptions.

Maybe this would be so if the dude writing it wasn't a total rook, but everyone knows he is... well anyone with a worthwhile opinion. I'm at the PKRA right now and I can assure you 100% that every rider I've talked to here thinks the guy is an A grade wanker. In-fact he came in on top of an un-official "biggest douches involved with kiting" list the other night haha.

As for "what happened to Andy Yates". I can tell you exactly what happened because I judged the heat. The same thing that happened to a lot of other talented riders on the same day, he got knocked out in a super close heat between another talented kiter. Alex Pastor had one of his best heats of the event and took him out in a 3/2 spilt decision between the judges. If he had been against anyone else except for Pastor in that heat he probably would have won. Pastor went on to have a pretty average following heat and got taken out by Rondina who had a lot cleaner tricks.

He only won the title a few months ago, he isn't the previous world champ, he is the current world champ untill someone takes it from him. Surely he should be paid that respect. Hadlow, langeree, they are previous world champs. It might only be a play on words that you might think big deal, but given the recent history of Andys treatment by this mag I think it was a deliberate wording, and therefore insult, which is a very low blow from a highly visable publication within the industry.
