There were 30 kites in the air at Yorkeys Knob yesterday. We've got great winds at the moment. There are kiters there every day because we're getting a lot of visitors from down south and internationally. G

It was cranking today as well! One of the better days this year. Looks like it may be easing off over the next couple of days, but that's fine by me. Gotta turn up at the office at some stage.

Ja, sehr stark luft Samstag, Sontag und Montag, aber kein wellen und wind heute.
Cheers from Baron von Boxburg of Lichtenstein. 'cause there's no water in Vaduz, I just gotta hang out in Cairns. 30 kites out on Sunday and a group of young women removing their tops to distract the kiters. Lucky someone had the sense to give them a good talking to and dicuss the safety aspects of their actions. Fortunately they got the message and applied sunsceen.

My long lost friend The Baron...so good to hear von dir noch mals.

Remember those long hard walks from valley to valley moving those beasts around? Making cheese together..........ohhhhhhhhh, but kiting is so much besser dan das.

When kommst du noch Perth? Are you up there with the Gringo?

Hoo Roo

Yes, of course Kiting has been a national sport in Lichtenstein ever since King Ludwig jumped from a castle parapet in his oversized pantaloons and discovered to his great surprise that he landed alive and gently.
When the crown prince escaped the marauding Swiss by tying his shoelaces to his hanky, and leapt from the top of the mountain using his sceptre as a control bar, then the sport truly took a hold in the tiny principality.
The other reason kiting is such a huge sport in Lichtenstein is that the country has the highest per capita wealth of any country, and of course, when you fork out 2k for a setup, it helps to be filthy rich and live in a tax haven.

Just don't tell the French that kiting was actually invented by a freak of events centuries ago in two land locked alpine states.

I actually touched a Cross Bow kite today....hummmmm, wasn't that William Tell's favorite tool?

Hope you are well Baron and good kiting to you all in Cairns.
