hey everybody.

im originally from perth moved of to nz to snowboard ... then realised i have nothing to do in summer... then i found kiteboarding... i actually have an addiction. in the short space of 6 weeks that i have been doing it ... i have bought 4 kites 2 boards, 2 harnesses, 2 wetsuits, an impact vest and a dakine board bag spending roughly around 6.5K... dont tell mum. is this not the best sport in the frikin world... now back to my question.. is perth the mecca i am hoping it is... because over here im frustrated because there is only 1 wind that u can really go out on and thats the NE and it might blow above 15 knots once or twice a week at the most. like today its nw still around 30 knots but way to gusty to go out SO FRUSTRAITING.... please please tell me perth is not like this?

is the freo doctor the most common wind?

how strong does it get? can u go out in any other winds?

is there only beaches or do we have flat water eastury type places we can go out in aswell?

i have 2 kites i want to keep... i just bought a cabrhina xbow2 bow kite 12m and my other kite is a 9m ocean rodeo bow kite. the other to where naish torches and i decided i didnt like c kites, that was an expensive lil mistake :) will my 12m really b to big ?it has a wind range .... well i generally swap over after about 20knots i weigh 72kgs willl i really get to use the xbow much or is it worth selling?

im moving back next tuesday cant frikin wait and if there are any really bored people and there is no wind i would appreciate any advice

Just remember ...everything between Augusta and Geraldton is a secret spot.......in fact my secret spot.......and you can only use it if you are a local.......and you are only a local if you were born in Perth, nevr left Perth and died in Perth and were buried in Perth.

well i wasnt into kiteing when i was in perth so i guess i never really paid attention to wind tide water ect :) .

12 and 9m bows will get you out in everything worth kiting

Perth is crap...try melbourne or i hear Canberra rocks

Dear Jez,

We dont want all of Perths good spots packed out with Euro's, I'm glad you had a good visit but some places like woodies you can only enjoy when theres not many people on the water. It's no secret Perth is good but could you stop hyping up our spots and crowding them up with Touro's.

I don't care if there are all good blokes, its a matter of crowding, not danger.

oops, i duno were i got 8 from-must have remembered wrongly but anyway put together all the instructors in Perth doing their lessons would be a considerable number

Perth is not what they say it is , people are not who they say they are its not where the maps may say , does itt exist ? who knows, its all secret spots,

It's true I am not a Perth boy but I have been here for over a year almost and I always ride the same spot pretty much, also I don't care about tuoros riding where I do or anything like that but hyping it up on the internet is a bit different.

Havox , ignore what most of the ppl here are saying.. I went over for christmas and during the week on daytime, pretty much all of the spots are near empty... I've been to woodies so many times and had 1-2 hours of perfect wind with just myself or 2 or 3 others,

then on the weekend or afternoon later on around 4-6 pm , the rest rock up. sometimes it's busy , sometimes it ain't. there is plenty of unused coastline everywhere the has no-one on it and gets the same steady breeze. It's just the popular spots that get crouded, and there are plenty of spots with no-one that are far better than the popular spots... I think i didn't miss a day kiting due lack of wind, only because i needed a break!
