I've been very frustrated for not being able to train.
I've seen a guy on Christmas break kiting and i got crazy, this is too cool, so I bought a training kite and I'm training.
but the fact is that i work full time and live in the west of Sydney (not close to the beach), therefore i only have weekends free for kitesurf.
But every bloddy weekend the wind is not good.
Is it normal? Is someone experiencing the same?
Also, is there any one with sone suggestion for cheap lessons?

Easy: the addiction will take over and then you'll move near the beach.
Gotta be close so as soon as you see the wind tree move, the gear is in the car and you are at the beach!
Also, kiting mid week gives you another 70% chance of scoring wind!

When it's on, you will probably find yourself taking single days annual leave if your work permits it.
I feel your pain. That's why most of us have at least 3 kites and 2 boards to cover from 9kn to 35kn. That way if it's blowing you usually get chance for a ride.
The other half of the battle is to let your wife know this is what you NEED.

Unfortunately any sport controlled by the weather variables in Sydney has its inconsistencies hence frustration. How many surf contests are held in under 3 foot crap waves? This is what killed windsurfing in the early 1990s. We had 2 drizzly summers,little wind. So most guys gave up coz their no.1 weekend summer sport didn't exist.You need a backup sport such as pushbike riding,ocean swimming at least 1 klm or surfing.The chances of having wind over 16 knots on a weekend is slim.Good luck with it.

Been screwed by the wind gods again. Forecast for Sunday has been looking great all week, so organised other plans for Saturday. jump on METEYE this morning, Saturday is supposed to be ripping and Sunday has died in the arse

Should have gone to japan this summer, even on a bad day they have the best snowboarding in the world

I've had to resort to wakeboarding this season due to the wind being so tempremental and hard to get right...one minute its 20kts, then 20 minutes later you arrive at the beach and its either dropped out or no where near as powerful as you thought...

Good thing about waking is you can do it pretty much when you want!! Bad thing is you need lots of money for a boat, fuel, a crew, gear, maintenance etc. etc.

The obvious solution is to work just enough to buy a kit and then quit your job.
