It can be good up here for wind but will most likely be in the mid 40s in town. If it's like last year though the water temp will be too hot for regular seabreezes and will be hot and humid on the coast and the odd cyclone. Most reliable would be anywhere from gero south.

I have found that even gero can get a little too hot (and for the reasons turtle hunter said) at times - although gero is gero and it always blows there.
A lot of crew hit augusta and esperance etc that time of year, depends though, I live just south of rockingham and we had wind most of jan this year... although if you have a limited time frame, best bet further south. Augusta is ya best bet, but you will get crowds. Last year I turned up unbeknown to me, when a certain contest was on (forgot what it was called, but it is a biggy - don't follow the stupid things), but there was 30-60 kites in the inlet at times, so I went ocean side. But that being said it's a cool atmosphere and everyone was really friendly, depends on what your into, I kite to get away from fellow homo sapiens, some, like the 'scene', and that's cool.
I did meet some great crew, a dude from Quinns rock who has his whole family kiting - smart man. Forgotten his name, if ya read this give us a hail.
