Hey guys, looking to upgrade kites to a second hand 07 model. I am a fan of the 07 rebel and the switchblade 2, and I am after one kite that will get me out in most conditions. Was thinking probably a 12m would be best? I currently ride a 143cm board with a 10m Rhino 2, and sick of having such a crap wind range. Will upgrade my board to something smaller as well (hopefully around the 130cm mark). Just wondering if a 12m of either of these kites will be the right size for me? Or if there are any other kites I should look at. I’m 72kgs and just under 6’ tall and ride mostly around Brighton in Melbourne and into freestyle/free ride. Thanks in advance.

I guess a 12m would be good. I ride a 13 Impact and 10 Vegas. The 10 Vegas gets me going on a good seabreeze day on a North Dragon L without being overpowered while the 13 has plenty of power most of the time and I can ride my 119 board but mine are C kites. I'm around 85kg.

A 12m bow would cover a large windrange and there are many of em out there. But at the end of the day it's how comfortable you feel, with 72kg you may consider even a smaler one. Try b4 u buy...if you can.

I have used a 12m Switchblade 2 in Melbourne for almost a year and have been out in 14knots up to about 28knots ( 28 was a bit much but manageable ).
Originally I planned on buying a second smaller kite but have found no need.
Very happy about that Not so happy about the Cabrinha quality

ie :
Have now broken 2 trim straps (strap above bar for adjusting power ) in 9 months ( yes i avoid putting my bar in the sand )

One leaking bladder from new

First 12m Switchblade ripped in half on very first impact with water on second day of use ( was repaired under warranty but not replaced )
Purchased a new one ( as I was told it may take weeks to be repaired or replaced , it took 6 weeks ) and did not want to miss the summer.

Two snapped Lines

One broken pulley

Not every one has had issues with cabrinha maybe I got 2 dud kites but quality issues aside I love the way the kite works.

for your weight a 12 should see you out in most conditions, but for us bigger blokes a 14 is the way to go...mate... i just bought a 14 Rebel, but im 22Kgs heavier.
