I was asked this afternoon down on the beach,why I never entered in
kite comps.My answer was " I did once,no wind,no refund on entry fee
(paid in advance)and no draw on the sponser donated prizes.
Maybe that's the price you pay sometimes to stroke your ego. But
seriously is'nt every session out in the water a comp to some degree?,
no prizes but coming in thinking ( yeah finally nailed that move)
Do the best kiters actually enter in a lot of comps?.Would be interested in hearing others thoughts. Another question, in case my ego needs stroking in the near future, do kite comps have divisions catering
for over 50yrs,or would you be competing in the masters (35 yrs plus)?

i think there is meant to be an over 45's Legends section but never enough people to fill it so over 35's Masters is usually the last section....

but i guess as time goes by, there will be more that will make this category...
