I kited in the river once.That was a lesson with ian young.Would never go back.like rez that terrified me.i like the open space of the beaches.i think if you come from a background of other ocean activities its not such a big problem.Stick to the rule dont go out any further than you are prepared to swim back,do heaps of body dragging down wind,and walk back.it keeps you fit!!And it is a good idea to find a learning buddy so you can both help each other out.
