Noone else to blame but OURSELVES, kiters doing the right the thing with common sence will never bring bans. Look at the big picture what is happening at Malaloo will spread to all beachers if kiters keep it up. Lets look at Cottelsoe WHY DO KITERS STILL LAUNCH RIGHT IN FRONT OF A SIGN THAT STATES NO LAUCHING WITHON 100 METERS OF THIS PIONT. What else do you expect than there to be a public will to ban kiters when we act in this irrisponsible way. Overseas and out of town kiters make yourself aware of the rules and locals you know the rules obey them. Kitesurfing is a sport that can be in harmony with all other beach activities so long as we respect all other beach users and beach activities. For the GUYS with BIG EGOS please leave the sport now, we dont want you here.

Happy kite surfing and beach activities for all.

I predict that in the not to distant future, most beaches in urbanised areas(populations of more than 20000)will have regulations severely restricting their use by kiteboarders. We will look back at the good old days(now) when we had freedom to kite at the best locations with envy. It wont be long before the only places to kite with relative freedom will be on the untouched beaches outside our towns and cities.

Word to the mutha, brutha

Let's not be shy, let's talk to inconsiderate or irresponsible kiters. In education lies the key. Perth has more dip **** kiters; kiting too close to swimmers than anywhere else in Aus I've seen (I've been everywhere man). I find I'm the only one that talks to these people and generally I find they are only making ill-informed decisions because they don't know better. It's not often you'll get attitude from folk if you approach with a smile eh.

Peace

If they have been spoken to and still dont want to obey I find offering to launch their kite and then just as they're about to give the thumbs up let the air out. Then when they complain just say "well you can't kite by the rules so you dont get to kite here"
They soon get the message. [}:)]

I politely pointed that sign out to a kiter one day as he walked down the stairs to the beach where he was already setup. He said "I've been kiting here for 2 years and haven't noticed that sign before!, did they (WAKSA) just put that up?"

I think there are already too many signs everywhere and people just don't bother to read them anymore!

Fight FIRE with FIRE and we all get burnt. [}:)] (Lotsa capitals in the original post ay?)
Sit and watch the FIRE and we will probably all get burnt.
Some cool words, give them the benefit of the doubt and educate and we may just all get along.
That includes 'irresponsible kiters', 'ignorant council members', etc etc.

Do they kite in Perth or live in Perth?

There is a big difference between locals doing it (in which case they deserve what they get) or blow ins (be it euros or cane toads)
