graceful, i'm afraid you are just part of the problem by ignoring them.

i was playing with my 3m slingshot trainer yesterday and a couple of guys came straight out from the shop with a 2m.

saw mine said hello and walked downwind to set up, 20 minutes later they are untangling their lines.

soo, i stepped in to help, somehow they thought it was a good idea to undo the lines on the bar and tie the line loop in rather than use a larks head, you don't want to know what was on the other end.

so once a few words of assistance were exchanged and re-tying of knots was done and a oh by the way this is called a larks head...

they were off, not hurting anybody and enjoying themselves.

they also picked up on some beach etiquate i.e. don't put your 2m infront of a 12m that = bad.

yes there are really thick people out there, but by shaking your head you are no better yourself.

These people do not know any better! They also do not read this forum. My approach to people is to firstly be friendly and approachable.

Tell them what your concerns are and perhaps offer some sensible alternative. Works for me*.

Except for a dude I seen out at Woodies last Friday. Offshore beach 25-30knots this guy puts his young child of below 10years old between his LEGS stood on the board the kid was wearing a crash helmet! Anyway they ride out a few 100 metros offshore an do a few tacks etc. I could not believe what I was witnessing! I was was flabbergasted!

All was daisy until the wind jacked up to 30 knots and blew them into the ocean with the guy body dragging around in an attempt to pick up his floundering child!

He managed it and they both dragged in - Honestly it was the most wreck less, selfish and stupidest acts I have ever witnessed.

To put your child in such 'potential' danger is absolutely ludicrous and the guy should be bloody ashamed. If I see him again I will surely be having words.

*unless they are total morons.
