Firstly, thanks to those who gave me info on kitesurfing locations north of Perth a few months ago.

From your info I now reside in Carnarvon and the kitesurfing conditions here are fantasic, with winds consistantly averaging around 20 knots with choices of both flat water (like glass in some areas) and waves.

Local locations consist of warm water in either shallow (ankle to 3 metres deep which slowly tapers off over hundreds of metres) or deep water.
The water is usually always clear with the occasional few fish and sting ray spotted (and small .5m sharks if your lucky).

Their are other great spots only a few kms on either side of the town which I have always had to myself and have been great fun.

So if anyone is looking for some great warm kitesurfing locations north of Perth I would recomend Carnarvon as a definate kiting location stop off.

Good kiting to you all, and hi to the guys at my old kiting ground Pinnaroo!
Cheers
Louie in Carnarvon

Louie, have you been kiting with Kees Bakker up there yet? I think he lives @ Peli Pt. Actually thought that you two might be working together - he's a doctor.

Yes Ian I have and meet up with Kees and some of the local wind & kite surfers as well, some of us are in the process of arranging a get together for a BBQ and sail.

I'm the teacher, Louie' I think doctor Louie is still in Perth. There where two Louie's kiting out of Pinnaroo before just to confuse everyone.

Dave good to hear from you!
I ended leaving a bit rushed and did'nt get to say bye to hardly anyone or do much kiting in the last couple of weeks I was in perth.
I hope everyone is well and if you are up this way be sure to contact me.

Fujiko did come up but will be leaving for home in a few weeks unfortunatly. From the limited fishing i have done I caught a coral trout and numerous tailor. Mostly there are plenty of fresh mangoes to be devoured up here and with fresh fish, having been my staple diet recently. (mangoes, fish/fishing and kitesufing , and some work inbetween)

Keep in touch

I was wondering where you got to Louie. I was chatting to the missus a few days ago and your name was mentioned, along with the fact that we have not seen you for some time at pinnaroo. Did your girl friend go up there also? Sounds like a great place to kite and i bet the fishing goes off too. I will look you up if i ever get up to Carnarvon. All the best Dave....
