hey guys,
great forum!
anybody got any info on kiting in airlie beach, gonna be up ther over the next few weeks and wondering what kites to take. Is it best to stay in Airlie beach or can you stay on Whitehaven beach?
Or should you blow out the whitsundays and head for Bowen?
Any suggestions for that area would be greatly received.
Cheers all!!!

There are no beaches at Airlie from which to kite but is a good beach north of town about 35 minutes drive.
No you can not camp at Whitehaven, it is a protected park. There are no buildings or structures there. You can bring your boat in. when I kited there last year we anchored our boat on the other side of the Island from the beach where we were protected from the SE wind.
