i know this type of thing has been posted many times but after yesterdays session i feel it needs to be done again.
yeterdays westerly bought some much needed wind to dust off cobwebs and let off steam after not much wind for quite a while, i appreciate everyone wants to get on it and Kurnell is a great place to "get some" in that direction.
honestly i get in peoples way some times, no one is perfect but some manners go a long way such as a sorry wave and smile or some kind of acknowledgement. so dont take this the wrong im not trying to say im perfect, i got in peoples way a few times yeaterday!
there are a few riders who do this and i think its best to get it out before it becomes nasty. there is plenty of room at this spot and some etiquette needs to be exercised.
just remember these few things and we can all get along and not raise people temperatures above having a good time;
*look over your shoulder before turning
*look downwind before jumping
*if someone is coming towards you dont just turn around in front of them, go downwind of them with kite lower or upwind with kite high. plan aheah and dont panic!
*dont follow a rider to the shore and wonder why they turn in front of you
*generally be aware of your surroundings and what other people are doing
the one that give me the most annoyance is;
blantant turn in front of you (20-30mtrs away) when you are on the way back in hunting for some flat water in the groynes. once or twice i can live with as yeah you have made an honest mistake, continually you are being a dick.
also if a hot head local yells at you you have probably done something wrong, but dont inflame the situation by yelling back that should be last resort :)
in short play nice in the water there is plenty of room for everyone if we all get along, dont be a dick as there are plenty of heavy locals at Kurnell that dont take that crap and you dont want to get on their bad side if your a blow in!

It good to discuss safety and etiquette and everything listed vital and true. However would prefer leaving out terms like 'blow ins'. There were only dedicated kiters there - people who kite very regularly and love their sport.
