Gday Stamp
Ive just moved here myself, up from sunny Shark Bay, the windiest town on the planet. Theres a few local crew who kite and all really cool. This place is heaven for kiting youve probably been sussing spots along the west coast and I cant see one spot I want to avoid, apart from the top of the peninsula (dont like the thought of getting dragged to the Murions!!).
September is when the wind kicks in and then its 9 months of joy.
Send a reply and we'll hook up its gonna be a great Summer.
Oh yeah and for the rest of you reading this, its too far to travel, the sharks are monsters and the locals eat kiters for breakfast after consuming their third whale shark for the day. Woodies rocks!!
hahahahahahahaahhahahhahaha, we're in paradise.
Haahahahahhahahahahaaaaarrrrggggguuuuuuhhhhh.

Yeh nice Lurch - Localism rears it's ugly head and Youv'e only been there 2 minutes. - it's not like theres not enough room up there.

But i'm sure you where joking anyhow.

ps

They are always the most vocal locals - the ones that have just arrived

You are only a real local if your mum was born there !

Gasman you legend.
Sandy Bay to Graveyards, big bloody call but definitely do-able.
Gruezi's gonna be here the day after you arrive so lets get a crew together and workshop this baby.
I'm in who else wants to get on the program.

We'll need a high tide in the afternoon ...... what does the tide chart say?
You'll be able to rip up the flat on the inside, carve down wind on the 50 km of continuous wave break. Can't believe no one's done it ...... or have they??
Ideally leave a car half way ..... or a frindly partner following us north.

Hope we can avoid the "domestic" that featured at the end of the last one in O'l Sharkie

Swweeet we have a starting crew who are good to go. I reckon Dej will be on the program when he hears about it. Suz will be on the support crew as well. Hopefully some of the local crew (hey Scotty) will be charging too.
50 ks of turquoise blue lagoon and waves all the way down, wildlife as good as the Bay and we can even have a perve on the backpackers snorkelling too!! Sounds too good to be true, well it aint my friends this is reality. Throw in consistent 20-25 kt sw and we're in heaven.
Had to work today down at Ningaloo station and we had the first good se-sw for weeks it blew 20 kts solid all arvo and it looks like its on again tomorrow. Damn work, who said I had to make a living!!
Now this is why we have a forum, in Big Kev's words "Im excited".

Missed my planned trip - damn #^*>@!? it all.
But I will be back in WA just in time for this big groupy. I will be tryin my best to join you all.
Great company ; best place on earth & Sandy Pt. > Graveyards !!!!!
O M G - this is the stuff dreams are made of
If I can make it it will be one more support vehicle & a built-for-exmouth-reef support boat as well.

ps Airhead - Actually Yardie Creek park is way more windy & way dustier than Lighthouse.
But Hey - no-one has to know that (least till they get there )

Im gonna take the week off from my hectic works schedule of looking after the reef, dealing with touros on the park and generally enjoying myself. How about a few days down the coast camping at Winderabandi, stay in Exy and head out each day for kiting joy. Exy is on the Eastern side its protected from the wind, great for the girls, so if they dont wanna go we go to Sandy Point, Graveyards, etc and be back for arvo beers each day. Use my place as the base but book your accom in Exy. Sandy Bay is only 3/4 hr, Graveyards 1/2 hr, lighthouse 20mins all from Exy.
Keep the gals happy, heaps of accom, jobs on.
Whaddaya reckon.
PS. Im thinking about buying a couple of Waroos I hear they rock...........

Tides predictions indicate that downwinder should occure during the end of the week, 7th onwards. Y'all may want to check on this also:

www.bom.gov.au/cgi-bin/oceanography/tides/tide_predications.cgi

Seems like we're going to have a great time. Training for 4 days followed by epic.

Hopefully every kiter up there will be in. Still seeking boat support volunteers (or we can rotate duties on the day), especially if we're going to explore out where the sharkie lives Land recovery with refreshments is done deal.

8 more days till Spring and only a month to go, yuppie! Really need some nice wind down here though so I can try some of the new toys out on the market.

airhead, are you coming and have you booked in somewhere?

Wind is coming

I'd forget the support boat. Many sections will be shallow, and outside the reef not at all cool for a little boat if the wind is good for kiting. It's cross onshore all the way, and never a long walk out to the road ( but pretty friggen lonely once you're sitting on the bitumen and we're still tearing downwind.

So keen ....... I'm off to Sumbawa this weekend just to warm up a bit. Had a chance to sail today in 60 kn, but couldn't get my G string rigged properly

You lucky thing you. Hope you have a great trip with lots of big waves and lovely wind.

Great that we don't need a boat...the ground support will be there so we can take breaks, pick up another kite etc. Finish the wine and off to bed,dam work.
