Hi. Does anyone know what the kiting is like in Broom.
I'm heading up there in a few weeks on a fishing trip.
I'll be spuing if the fishing is crap and the kiting is
great, but I didn't have my gear. Does anyone do it in Broom.
Kite that is. Thanks,
Zack

As you will see from the graphs it blows quite nicely from the east in the mornings. The wind is coming off the Great Sandy Desert and quite consistent for air travelling over land. You can kite this at east facing Town Beach on Roebuck Bay no worries. Or down near the port.
Later in the year the pressure systems move a bit differently, I can't remember how now, but for a couple of months around the very start of the Perth season it cranks from the west and is good to kite on at Cable Beach.
Over the wet though all you get is tropical storms and stingers. Not so good for kiting.
Some locals did/do kite. I don't know them though, I don't live there anymore.
The fishing is never crap in Broome though. When I moved there they said if I like fishing and/or drinking I'd love it. Arguably the best fishing in Australia.
Do yourself a favour and when asking questions like this make the topic name a bit more descriptive, like 'Kiting in Broome'. Another trick that often comes in handy is the search function. This topic has been covered several times in the past on several different forums.

Thanks for the info and tips. I'm a first timer at this.
Looks like I had better pack my kite. Thanks again.
