Hi - any one got any tricks to get a single knot out of a line without destroying it?

Soak it in hot water for 10 minutes first.
Then work on the knot using your teeth (not too hard)
A little patience and you should get it.
DO NOT USE ANY METAL IMPLEMENT!!!

Just stick it in your mouth and chew on it... seriously.
you can also wet the line and tap it with rounded hammer. It will come out.

soak it in fish oil,put it in the freezer over night, then dig a hole at the foot of a large female oak tree(must be female)cover in wet news paper and leave it there for a week.
knot will come right out easy
if that dosent work, tie a knot in your other 3 lines so all are even lenghts.
sorry couldnt help myself.
good luck

"Where something is weak, that is where it tears", a quote from my workplace meant to be about building a strong company. Be warned, knots left in lines weaken them, I have had lines break at knots before. And like Jason says, metal is BAD...

After about the 3rd time it happened to me, I realised there was a pattern.

Knot always in the last meter or so of the line.
Rushing to get set-up and on the water, didn't see it. Then flew a session on it and got it nice and tight.

Now I check for knots on the last 2m of each line on set up as part of my final lines/connectors/bridle double check before launch. Never had another knot and it saves 20mins of swearing, chewing, picking etc. to get them out.
