just started kitesurfing not so long ago and managed to get up on the board today, yay. I have a mate who comes down with me and helps me launch, only problem is we are having problems launching the kite, can you guys give the rundown on how to launch a kite properly, from the point where it is lying on the ground with the board weighing it down.

Thanks

Launching and landing kites are where most injuries and accidents occur, so I would highly reccomend getting a lesson. Even if it does cost $70 an hour, you might just need that hour to refine your safety skills... You are not only endangering yourself, but other kiters and the general public as well... But it's better to be safe than sorry!

what brand and model of kite is it?

how much wind are you trying to launch in?

how heavy are you?

Congrats on not hurting yourself or someone else. Get a lesson before your luck runs out.
