Hi

Ive had a lesson up at Tuggrah a few weeks ago but it was with a boat out in deep water. I have since brought a kite and been practicing on the beach a few times but this has been on empty s.coast beaches. Im now back in sydney and its way to crowded on the beaches to learn.

are there any areas with relativly shallow water that i can learn in on lake tuggrah? I dont know the area to well.

would appreciate some directions thanks!

Try looking on www.nswkba.com.au at the "Kite Spots" it mentions some of the lakes around the area.

Also contact whoever you got the lesson from, I'm sure they would be able to recommend somewhere suitable, they will probably be able to team you up with someone else at the same level so you don't have to practise alone.

Hi Andrew

If you get a chance, drop by the shop and we can point you in the right direction depending on the conditions.

We also might be able to get you in touch with a couple of other guys to go out with on the Central Coast "tuggerad lake"

Mate,
As a newbie also to the sport I have spent most of my time at Chittaway Bay. There is a small park there and lots of friendly kiteboarders of all levels, and lots of space for all. Beauty of the location is the shallow water that goes out for around 500 meters. Only draw back is the mud.
Best access to the location is off Wyong Rd. Good luck.

yes i thought Chittaway bay looked good, but when I had my lesson I ended up around there (went east-west across the lake) In a NE'er and the wind completely died as soon as I went a bit behind that big point that sticks out into the lake.

maybe i was just at the wrong spot. wil give it a go this weekend !
cheers.
