Okeydokey - in that case what you said sounds right and yes the front lins need shortening. You can change the back pigtails a'la Galah, but I wouldnt recommend cuting and sleeving the front lines - thats a recipe for disaster.
Changing the cleat position is possible, but it wont make a huge amount of difference - I tried this a quite while ago and if I remember correctly the cleat is located at the end of a doubled up (one inside the other) section of chicken line. Repositioning the cleat is easy, but unless you cut back the inner rope it wont fit into the cleat, so you wont actually get much more depower. I hope that makes sense, its pretty hard to explain without photos and diagrams. Give it a try, but I think your best bet is longer piggies for the back lines. Let me know how you get on.
