man what a waste... .i'm sure they are having fun but in regards to helping the community..sure hotels are makin money.coles is rakin it in.police have speed cameras out.(carefull 40klm speed zone)council rents out the beach?
shops are not open longer.no benefeit to employees.hotels have full rooms.so house keepers few more hours..i can not see how it can make the community millions the council is expecting.police fines included..'
personally would be happy if not allowed back for another year..
crowds are minimal.....the life savers don't won't to be here...will gladly pack any bags offered...

People, don't even go there, i got abused (seriously, i got threats!!!) and the post got eventually removed by Laurie for expressing my opinion on our beautiful friends the life savers.
This is great and they should do it every year for the next 40 years!!!!
At least, that is my excuse not to check the beach anymore

what ****s me is that before going to work i usually head down to brighton and drink my cofee in the top carpark now theres budgies everywhere and no parking along the beach front. i remember last year the lifesavers from over east were complaining at the lack of surf and they thought it was a waste of time

I agree it would be nice if they kept a bit of parking free for regular beach users.

HOWEVER - this restricted access and inconvenience to our usual routines is only for about 10 days a year, and at the end of our wind season when there are likely to be fewer days with good seabreezes anyway.

I think it would be to the detriment of sporting groups and society in general if events weren't staged from time to time.

Remember; the council and community are very good to support our kitesurfing events held at Scarborough Beach. We certainly inconvenince the swimmer and surfer for the odd afternoon when a section of beach is closed for us to run our events. Imagine the negative impact on our kitesurfing community if we couldn't run events.
