This is what he is referring to I think...

A short clip of Albert Falzon's classic surf movie that is more than 30 years old now. If there was one surf movie worth watching it is this one.
Here is a good link with information about the movie and the music.

Makes me yearn for less complicated times.... shaping ya board without a mask, hearing protection, glasses or overalls. Go surfing in some boardies and not worry about skin cancers. probably finish of the surf with a pie, tab and chips not worrying about cholesterol and then have a root with some girl you just met without fear of catching an STD. And the music was nice too

Thats what surfing is all about to me, long cut backs etc none of this riding a surfboard like a skate board, old school flow surfing.

He should really be wearing a mask . Great music / chilled vid.

Waves with no other people. Can we expect the same result with kitesurfing in 30 years?

Just a few question on the clip to all you hardcore ex-surfer type dudes out there. The guys seem a lot more tentative on the board, not nearly as aggressive as the modern pros. Also I noticed single fin, no thrusters. Is this related?
I know nothing about surfing, so please help enlighten me...

Yes a single fin requires a totally different approach to the wave and really only responds well to smooth carving turns. When running straight ie not on an edge they can get quite twitchy.

But they were probably all pretty stoned when Filming Morning of the earth so that probably has an effect as well.

If you like morning of the earth you will probably really like "Shelter" more modern but same style filmed on the NSW North Coast (lennox byron area ) also "September Sessions " my three favourite surf films all with ripping / groovy soundtracks.
