Took my x3 out for the second time today and are still having probs with over sheeting. First made sure all lines were of the same length and of i went to find the kite over sheets a lot, more playing around with line length and seems to work best with the out side lines 4 inchs longer then the inside is this ok? Im of the impresson that im doing some thing very wrong. Please need help on this as no one seams to have this prob but me.

Thanks

moving to high aspect kites i think most have this problem, particularly if you use your bar set up from a mod/low aspect kite
the most recent edition of kitesurf (UK mag) addresses this issue,
and helps with tips on tuning the kite
need to fly it on front lines ++++
so having a lot of slack on back lines can be expected, full power should not pull in the back tips alot, although some pros like a slight over sheet for boosting
oversheeting interrupts the airflow and stalls the kite, even in some circumstances the kite can fly backwards, i think early airush lifts where prone to this!!

Xtrail the X 3s and even the X2s fly alot more off the front lines than the back lines so it is OK if your back lines are longer than the front. what i do is hook into the chicken loop (with the kite at 12) and the harness line then set the kite to max power using the center strap (just before the wing tips start to point inwards) but i also ride 80% of the time in both the chicken loop and the harness.
most X3s will fly best on the recomended settings. the only one that i dont fly on the standard settings is my 14 because i find that it likes alittle more back line tension. As it comes out of the bag put your front lines on the bar and then the back lines on the end knot on the leader line on the bar and at the kite end there should be a little red tag on one knot on the pigtails.

let us know how you go.

I fly my 10 and 14 m X3s with a lot of back line tesion, if you look up at the lines the back lines hardly curve, these kites want a lot of wind and only get better as windspeed increases, they dont fly backwards at all, best kite available lots better than X2

Ray q if you want better bottom end from your x3s try flying them on the very front tags and a little less back line tension this will make the kite much faster in the air and less dragy.
X3s rock! luffing is now a thing of the past in kite surfing. i have been flying x3s for ages now and have only had 1 luff and fall out of the sky but even that was me stuffing up a handdle pass and leaving the kite miles out of the window.

Xtrali jelly fishing is pro not enough air in the leading edge.

I'm just curious.
When you are talking about all lines being the same length for x2's/x3's, do you mean they all lines should be the same length with the chicken loop hard up against the bar?? ( ie, how are measuring your line lengths?? )
I changed my lines lengths indirectly around a bit after getting a naish SSS and now want to get them back to the " factory " settings!! ( which I thought were pretty spot on!! )
