Good on ya georg...."go north young man."

Gero rocks, great people and great kiting...Pt. Moore is a freak of nature, flat water and waves all in one place...then there is Coronations, the list goes on and on. Visit Champion Bay B&B as a start.

not sure there is much in the way of hostels near point moore. possibly doable on a bicycle but its a bit of a mission.

i stayed at a hostel in town, sorry forget the name but its a big old style building on the foreshore a few hundred metres from the cinema. pretty nice place. if you sweet talk the owners they might help you out with the odd lift to and from point moore they have a shuttle bus

also cabs are actually pretty good in gero... would only cost a few bucks to get around

If you're heading this way,
And your on foot falcon stay at sunset beach caravan park, plenty of polesurfers and kiters stay there and it's on the beach, well, not on the beach just over the dune under some trees. 40m walk to the water.
IGA (shop), bakery and bottle shop is 500m walk up the road.
Theres also some farmers who stock up fruit stalls and thats usually a $1 or $2 for a 1kg bag of something. Find that in the caravan park.
The conditions are cross shore wave riding out the front of the park and its popular when the swell is solid 3m plus.
No shortage of wind, some people say its too windy.

Sunset Caravan Park is a good spot and you can usually hitch a ride with a fellow camper to Coronation beach or Point Moore. If you kite at the point you must bring beer.

Yes, I totally agree with Pornstar. Beer for the Pt. Seek out a guy named "Berry" and offer him the first from your case, then tell him your'e here to kite and ask him to give you the run down on the area.

If you survive the above encounter, enjoy your session!.

But seriously, there is a lack of accom. out Pt Moore way, and Sunset Caravan Pk is a traditionally sweet set-up if your thongs don't have wheels under them.

If you are a total winner in the game of life and are prepared to jump on your treadly and ride (I did it for a season with a little golf buggy as a trailer and man it's work!), I'd suggest town as Jan stated. Another option for a sweet pad in town, if you want to pay a few bucks more but still cheapish is to find the GBH Hotel(across road from cinema) Ask around for Brian or the Manager and tell him you are a kitesurfer and that you were recommended to his hotel for a good deal on accom.

From there, you can make great friends with the skimpy and offer to teach her to kitesurf. Then when you come down to the beach.....we buy you beer.

Geraldton is an adventure, it will just depend on how adventurous you are!. Just remember the humble attitiude rather than the "I'm a kiter and deserve respect coz' I'm extreme!" and you will fit right in!.

I'm the guy with the black helmet, If you rock up with the skimpy I'll seriously buy you a case. Pornstar is the guy that looks like a chick and has two dogs running around which will come say hello to you first.

If there's anyone else on the beach it's considered crowded so kite with caution as we tend to get a bit scared when it's crowded.

Oh, one last thing....If you fly without a fifth line your'e seriously missing out and people may not speak to you due to your'e obvious ignorance and lack of knowlege about kites (overarm cast..... float sitting nicely on the water, waiting, waiting, waiting.....any nibbles?)

I'll nibble.

What What!! Look like a chick!! - mother. I have more hair on my back than most on their front AND I can die it different colours too!

Dont go near the polesurfers, give them space. At the point they show signs of violence if you dont look like you know what your doing.

But if one does hit you tell my dogs that'll freak em out.
