I have just come up with what i think is the best way to insure that you get your board back when you loss it .
GET A STICKER MADE ,with your phone number and reward on it .

i have just struck a deal with steve at wakerider .He will make you a marine grade sticker 7cm by 30cm with your ph and the word reward on it for $10 and mail it to you . if you can't be bothered to go to the shop in bayswater .
i am sorry if this sounds like a ad ,if somebody can do it cheeper please say so.

We do that with all of our demo boards at Airborne Kitesurfing.

It is an idea that we have been planning on extending to include a data base of equipment to help with the tracing and return of equipment.
