hey there anybody, i am just getting started and i have found myself dropping into the water at the end of a run.
when i get to the end of a run i turn the board upwind and bring the kite around
where do i need to send the kite when i turn back?
to the center ?
or further into the direction i am about to head??

also, the option of just getting a bit of air at the transition. as i come down, where do i send the kite and what direction should the board be??.
thanx for any help ..

hey baggsy
trying shifting your weight to your back foot and sliding the board round 180 do this with the kite around 11 then steer the kite gently back in the other direction this will pull you back the other way and youve already switched to your other stance, the key to your speed through the turn is controlling the kite if you use too much power you'll be pulled onto your face too little and you'll sink.

Keep the power on and move the kite across to the other side as quickly as it will turn. As the kite comes across, stall the board to tension the lines and change direction.

Another cool transition is to swing the kite back and carve the board round to toeside and then switch back to heelside or switch to toeside before the transition.

Even better is to downloop the kite through the transition for extra speed.

ok , thanx for that..
do i need the kite to be turned before i get the board hapening??
at the moment i carve upwind to get ready, but then i just sink..before the kite powers back up.

as for air ..wel its cool to get up there.. but not knowing what to do on the way down .

your letting the kite go to close to the edge of the window before your transition resulting in a stop start pull.
go comfortably into the transition with a bit of speed-no real upwind movement, cut up towards the wind just before you pull the kite accross the top of the window, doesn't matter now what you do because the resulting dive down the other side of the window will just be accelerating in the direction you want to go.
you probably will move down wind a bit during the transition to keep yourself above the water
it comes with practice like everything. you will find that this method is thrown out he window once you have mastered it for a mild stop and bend the knees that works well for maintaining your ground.
once comfortable go for a back roll landing on the opposite tack. will take a good couple of goes to get the timing right (different for all kites)
