Has anyone else noticed how the sign over the last year has slowly made its way north from the first ramp 50 m up the beach to the north to the second ramp .Today it made it another 30 m north of the second ramp for the first time .At this rate all the beaches will be banned by summers end and the sign at Nobbys will be right up at the headland .
Wouldn't wanna hit anyone swimming outside of the flags would we

Funny how after the life guards knock off for the day at 5 pm (just before everyone comes down to the beach after work ) and the sign has gone we have managed to ride the bank for 9 years without incident and rescued the odd drowning swimmer

I went past Phils dad when I got to the wall and said g'day and I saw someone else off in the distance near the surf club when I was out in the middle of the bight .Think you confused the riders .Jeremy rode over from Nobbys with me and rode up around the hospital and hugged the shore all the way back.I think your issue is with him

BTW why do you guys schloogg around down at stocko ,when just a short ride up to the hospital its cross shore and epic a .Its actually not that tricky to get up to the signa which is even better

yeah saw the sign up again the last couple of days, ive been riding in the shallow waters near the lighthouse on that little sand bar and its great fun, why are we being slowly banned anyway, from what i have seen no-one has been riding in a dangerous way near swimmers
anyways good winds to all

I don't know .11 years of kiting at nobby's and no incidents that effect the public plus a few lives saved ."Here's ya christmas pressie guys"Is it up to the headland yet?
I spose we can't really complainn tho .Spoke to a guy from the UK the other day who was saying most beaches in UK that are popular with the public "No kitesurfing "plus I remember Malibu 6 years ago .Sorry lads no kitesurfing between may and September ,the guy rode up the beach to tell us and there were no other water users at the time .
Its all a bit strange really ,when its windy most other beach and water users nick off

Maybe if people spreaded themselves a bit thinner around...then the authorities may not get so "jittery"...

I mean why the hell are there 30 plus kiters at Nobbies and 4 at Stocko? And even less at Redhead etc....maybe if we all went to alternative beaches...rather than the Nob...like ...it's not that great anyhow...!

spread out people!

when i was learning to stay upwind my mate and i used to go 2 redhead everyday, when the wind was E or NE it is a great spot however sometimes the wind is so gusty that your kite can simply fall on your head, i have had some awesome sessions at redhead but i think the fear of you session being destroyed by an odd chance of very gusty wind turns some people away

then go down to blackies were the wind has had time to settle after coming over that headland at Redhead!

I'm not saying that we should go to any ONE beach, just that we all should vary our kiting spots...so as to reduce the numbers at the one beach!

We all know how it feels when you get surrounded by the bike gangs whilst driving to some place, the same feeling could be felt by beachgoers and authorities at places like Nobbies and elsewhere.

I know how timid I feel when kiting at Nobbies, thats all.

agreed .it is handy for some tho .Plus up the top is a bit easier for noobies ,can't understand why some people drive so far tho.
Here's a tip if it's a handy spot to get to and park your car .Set up at nobs and ride over to stocko (not on your own tho) epic downwinder ride home and across the harbour.Watch out for cruising great whites tho .(Actually there has been a trawler in the area last few days ,maybe they're chasing whatever the trawler is going for )

nobs is convenient and safety in numbers. i'd rather stack or have a gear failure when there are a bunch of other kiters around to give me a hand if need be.

its one of the better spots that is easily accessible in a NE. Dicko and Redhead you have the bluff messing up the wind when ur in close in the waves. theres not usually many surfers to run over at nobs either.

maybe we could have the council extend the nobs breakwall another 200m, dump a beach load of sand there and then we can have more beach :P}

safety in numbers....thats a laugh....numbers and kiters does not equal safety!
