With the new season here and pleanty of people about to buy new gear i thought it would be a good thread to start some stories about good or bad service stories.
As we all know all kites have had their issues over the years at he technology and designs evolved and of course this led to some issues

which brands have been good to you when you had a bonified problem....which means that there was a construcion problem not you being a doob and samshing the kite and then saying "the kite was no good because it didn't stand up to being dragged through the trees or line wrapped in the surf ....

If people know which companies will lokk after you after the sale then it may help people choose their next kite ....

I saw this thread on kiteforum and it was quite valuable

I only have good brand and customer service stories to tell.

My brand: Cabrinha X-bows> plug and play, fixes (like bladder pops or canopy tears on warranty).

My shop: great service with a smile...they try and get customers for life.

i bought a 04 slingy fuel new, trashed the hell out of it for a few seasons and when the bladders finaly failed they sent me new ones for free. Same story with slingy board except they sent me the next years model. All in the name of customer service.

had the stitching on a 12m xbow1 explode from front to back on both ends of the kite, at the same time, after it hit the water LE first. the kite was less than 4 months old.
the dealer did their best to help, but cabrinha couldnt have been less helpful, told me there was a 3 month warranty and it was bad luck. i told them they were crap, went and bought a fuel

Kitepower and Balmoral Boards in Sydney are both great with service. Good onya guys. Re manufacturers--five years experience with specific companies/brands/products--overall impressions of service--Good/excellent: Slingshot, Naish, Wipika and Monkey. Bad: North. Ask me for details if you're interested--I can give you a littany. No experience with other brands.

JB at windgenuity is great , they deal in Naish and North products , I had a faulty zipper they replaced my kite with a new one , although you must go through the shop you bought the kite from at the end of the day its up to the distributor what happens, I also had a faulty insert on a 2006 sol and they gave me a new board.

Execellent service and always friendly to deal with in regards to warranty issues.

hey look i actually have a non pimping my fav shop one!
my dad was in SAILPOWER and saw the harnesses in the corner (being this time last year i was looking for one) he asked if they were good for kitesurfing.
the response "ya 4 sure, we have sold heaps of them to kitesurfers"
would have provided much amusement for those on the beach though "haha look at that kid, how stupid can you get!"
but other than that i havent had any problems from them but go on to whitfords and i could blow a fuse

In regards to your local kite store i have found no better than Kite Rite Geelong. I had a problem with a depower strap on a kite i bought from there, and they replaced the bar the lines straight up.

Whats even better is that I found that being a return customer I am getting great deals (and tons of demos) on new kites.

The same story as stamp, I had my 16m XBow LE popped, and got a new bladder for free, no questions asked.
