Congrats to George and Fiona and helpers who had done a very professional job in getting this event together - such a shame the wind didn't deliver -
Looked like Keahi was on a Cab 14 and a about a 6 4 board - he was the only one going and was long gone before the other 3 kiters who got off the beach made it around the first bouy - maybe next year every rider should have add weights like jockeys do - trouble is that Keahi would have to wear about 45 kg to be equal to the average 90 kg rider on the beach.

Was using a contra 14 and a 5, 10 surfboard.
Congrats to anyone that even got off the beach because im pretty sure there wasnt even any whitecaps on the water till the end of the race. Congrats to Scott and his dad who made it with an 11 and 13 revs and also to simon who made it on a twintip. It was a pretty close battle for second place which Scott took out in the end.
A big thankyou to all the organisers and people who made the event happen. They did a good job and its a pity the wind didnt show up. There were some great prizes and a big thanks goes out to all the sponsors.
Cant wait till next year
