Can anyone advise me on wind range for these kites?

I am 95kg twin trip rider on 138.

Was thinking 11 or 13 for a one kite quiver.

Cheers,

tom

I was riding my '06 Ozone Instinct 11m over in WA and was very happy with the wind range. Every day i was there i was up and riding at ~3pm when the sea breeze kicked in, with wind ranging from ~14kn (gusting to 17) at the low end and about 24kn (gusting to 28). Even at 24knots i'd say i had about another 4-5kn before i'd say i was getting overpowered.

I'm 82kg and riding a '06 Naish Sol 136.

For some reason now i'm back in Vic and riding in choppy conditions i need minimum 17-18 knots before i'm riding and powered.

They'll both stay out in similar winds but the 13m starts earlier.

I've got the 07, 13mtr Sport and it gets going around 10-12kts. I'm 78kgs on a 132flx and often I'm cruising when others are struggling.
I don't know how it compares with other 12-13mtr kites as far as being the best but it's certainly up there. The 08 range may be better still as the LE and struts are supposed to be smaller and lighter.
Great kite.

Im 90 kg on a bad day........ 86kg ... on a chic magnet day
My 13m Sport 2007 on 133 x 33 Mark Shinn
I have kited now appx 30 times so thats my skill level.
I can get going with this set up in 13-14 knts up until gusts of 25 knts
Then i have a 9m Sport (thanks to kite devil)
That i take out when its averageing 20 knts and over.
I'm Really enjoying both kites they seem to fly very smoothley through turns of the kite and the board and also de-powering is lovely and smooth.
I have just started jumping and sometimes i de-power to quickly but because the de-power is so smooth and gradual ...it has saved me from numerous hard landings.
Im also really enjoying this kite in the waves.
Hope this helps

cheers for all your replies. I went for the 11m. Might just have to try and learn on a surfboard if it's not enough.

Many thanks,

tom

An 11m ozone should get you down to 15knots for your size, if you have an avarage sized board and not a teeny one.

My 06 instinct gets me from 13knots and ill ride it 27 gusting 32ish, overpowerd above 25 knots but i like it that way. But im only a 63kg guy.
