looking at taking a job in port hedland and was wondering what the place is like for kiteing(wind,kite spots ect.) is there any locals that live and kite there,will i have anyone else to kite with or am i going to get lonely
the spoil bank is an awesome spot to kite it is pratically good in any direction in winter you get alot of easterly winds that are strong in the morning, a few more weeks and they should start blowing. I was up there this time last year but didnt kite much due to work. I am currently working fly in out in karratha and there are some great spots to kite in the winter easterly winds. as far as porthedland goes as a place to live though its crap
yeah i heard it was a crap place to live,money is good though but not moveing over there if i cant get a bit of kite time in. looking for a job with half decent pay and in a good kiteing spot.
Hopefully a spot where there is a few other kiters to play with. so far most of the jobs have been too far from the ocean.
well you can definately kite up there in winter and you dont need a full length wettie springy is fine. check out the wind on bom for porthedland and karratha over the next few days it looks like the winter pattern is just startng. there are plenty of places to kite up there in winter especially in and around karratha and its surounding islands.
