yeah, I thought it was something in the shaft, but I can't unscrew the bottom disk... I think it is glued and is worried I'll break it and loose the warranty option... I phoned the shop today and we'll sort it out Monday... if no luck I will try
Steve.. the two round seals are both in-tact on both sides...
Sometimes they look like they are ok but they have become dislodged from the plastic post in the centre of the valve body. Pry the valve out of the large piston (disc) and check that the circular rubber flap is firmly seated on the post in the centre of the valve body.
These are very simple pumps, if you carefully disassemble them it will be obvious what is wrong.
When re-assembling put plenty of vaseline around the edges of the larger circular piston and smear some on the inside of the pump cylinder.
Clean out all sand and crud with newspaper or old rags. Clean is good when it comes to pumps!
