I think it would be an absolute blast ! I would be keen to be involved in some sort of course type racing in the future.

Let's hear if anyone else is for it in Perth over this summer.

Youngy would have to be a contender surely. (and probarly hard to beat as well)

I was in that race at PD. Had a ball. The great thing about races is that intermediate riders have as much chance of winning as the S-Bending KGBing, low powered wakestyle binding clad phreaks. Bring on a competitive format that doesn't have a 3 year learning curve and the sport will inevitably progress.

As in San Francisco, we need to form a relationship with one of the yacht clubs along the Swan River. This could perhaps be our base. Then we could potentially use their buoys that would be already set up for some sort of course racing. The yachties advice in setting all this up would be invaluable.

Does anyone have a connection at a appropriate yacht club ?

I remember Leon (the dude who repairs kites in Perth) used to spend some time at one of these clubs.

This could lead to a lot of other future benefits as well and potentially include us into a respected part of the community.

seen the latest Stance dvd ? - It has a bit at the end where they are racing but also jump over these long inflatable type wall things that float on the water...kinda like a Kite Steeple Chase.

the 'beach start' looks chaotic as they're all running to the water with kite abd board in hand - taking bets as to when we see this in the Xgames (if its not already)

I have the perfect location for the pinnaroo guys if your interested!!! I race every weekend at Hillary's Yacht Club will speak to the guys tomorrow if people are interested the courses are a triangle for those who havn't sailed before may be a bit smal for you guys it is based inside the reef on the North side of Hillary's marina tommorow (Sunday) at 10 if anyone wants to check our races. Not sure if you could race with us? ours are just dinghies so small sails might be possible, lasers use a 6.8 m square sail. course consists of upwind start starboard reach port reach and you decide how many legs you want,
Matt
