What do you mean? On which kite?

Are you talking about the one where you pull both back lines and the kite reverses up in the air?

Yep thats the one , I just got a nomad and hear a lot of talk is going on about the relaunching in marginal winds , I have read this is a good way to quickly pop it up in the surf

Haven't tried it with the nomad but have used it for other kites before. Pull both back lines hard and wait for it to get about 10m off the water before you let go of one hand to turn it around.

Ok , do u have to control the bar once u have let go of a line ? and i"m guessing this is when the kite is directly down wind like a hot launch ?

Yup. Its directly downwind. You don't have to grab the bar until the kite is facing directly up.

Here is a video

I dont think it would work on a cabrinha or you would be able to fly them out of a tree easyer.

Saffer , Has he spun the bar over so the lines are twisted or straight up to kite ?

No chance, I've tried it and there's too much sweep at the tips to get the centre of the canopy at the required angle.

I spin the bar 180 when I do it, but I don't have to use it often. It also works better if you're standing in water, so the surf may be tougher.

Just try it next time its directly downwind. It works with the Slingshot Fuel so it may with the hifi as well.

Yes. I do it all the time in lighter winds to avoid the kite sliding along the ground. It works fine.

I used to have SB3 and now I have 2010 Crossbows. It works fine for them. I haven't tried it on the 2009 Switchblade.

I reverse launch my switchblade all the time.. it works great... does not work very well in the water though because it just drags water into the leading edge..

aha, i've only tried it in the water in light wind when i couldn't get it to roll onto a wingtip. and yeah i found that it would just bog the leading edge into the water. but if others can do it perhaps i should give it another try.
