Just one back line. If you pull the right hand back line, the kite will rotate to the right and take off - simple as...

pull and hold. the hold part is important. rember to sheet out as well.if one back line doesnt work just try the other side. all the modern kites now use this method[bows and hybrids] youll find so easy.

I have only flown five liners until my first four line kite - the Rev2. I went four because of the Rev2.
So I sympathise with your situation. Happy to share my experience - I got advice from the slingshot people who spent considerable time on the beach with me and re-trained me out of the old habit and into the new. (thanks Dave)
Again, this is me...advising you...if you are a competent five liner going to four and know how to re-launch and don't mind dropping your kite and throwing the bar when missing tricks.
1. Hook up a suicide leash if you are a competent five line flyer going back to four as it's faster for re-launch.
2. Keep pressure on your lines at all times - that is, predominantly the leash which is attached to your chicken loop assembly. No swimming towards the kite or getting the kite to roll anymore.3. Pull yourself back to your bar, hook in.
4. Push the bar away from you and then pull in one line and hold.
5. Kite will turn on it's tip and re-launch
Again, I will say - all of the above advice relates to hooking up a suicide type assembly. You can still get out if in trouble (I have a leash quick release on the front of my harness and the back)
If you are not a competent five liner and don't understand the concept of "suicide" then I would suggest putting a stopper ball on a front line so that the bar doesn't slide miles away - some have had problems with this and have started moving towards the bar - hence, slackening the lines and then cracking a spass because the kite rolls.
So, I suggest the following if not hooking up a suicide.
1. Put an adjustable stopper ball on a front line 10m or so up the lines - enough to flag the kite for safety.
2. Keep tension on the lines at all times
3. pull yourself back to your bar - again, keeping some tension on your lines. Don't rush.
4. Hook in - push the bar away
5. Pull on a back line and hold; The kite will turn and re-launch.
