up to a level. anything passed the basic inverts then it starts getting more difficult on boots then straps.

It doesnt matter though coz no one on boots is doing anything good.

Wakestyler, why don't you make kiting easier for yourself and use straps? If you reckon straps is so much easier, then why would you want to dick around with boots which make everything so much more difficult. Maybe if you tie one hand behind your back, and ride a 6ft directional with your favourite bindings, on a 5year old 2 line kite with no harness, then we should judge your tricks as harder than everyone else's.

Comps are judged on a whole range of criteria- technicality of tricks, height, power, style, variety.. Never on what gear a rider chooses to use. If you throw better tricks wearing your bindings, then someone else in straps, then you're gonna win the heat.

Take the blinkers off dude, there's a whole world of options out there, straps seem to suit the top riders in the world ok,

just anonymous forum gimps like you who seem to have the problem..

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha!

Tell that to the new sport "kitesurfboard riding" created, and far more superior to standard kitesurfing.

i am wondering wether boots will be scored higher to straps because of the coreness and overall more skill involved?

Perhaps, wakestyler, but id go strapless if i were you, as we already know that scores higher. Besides, straps are for beginners???

Or if you do go with bindings, lets take it a step further and ride without a harness, and with no assistance from the kite (kites can go to and below 0% power, apparently...) That way we can try and conform our sport into one created many years ago. Who knows, we may even impress them...

I think the irony has been wasted...

Just to throw a spanner in the works, I will be entering a skim board (yes, you heard that right - NO straps). Pops, shuvits and ollies, how do they score?

Yes .Personally I think the purist form of the sport is actually without a board as well .Barefoot = max points

That's funny because I always thought boots were for beginners - they help to keep the board on your feet. But, it seems I have missed yet another cue in the extremely important world of 'Am I cool yet?'

You score way more pionts if you glue a set of old steel caps to your board[}:)]

red rocket is on to it, strapless waveriding is a hoax. as for entering with a skim board i doubt you will do very well the same thing happened in wakeboarding and they quickly realised they needed a seperate comp for wake skaters.
p.s. maybe you could start one up?

Yeah,
Those flatwater bandit dudes.
An alien world lightyears away from wavekiting.
Hey,
That's not a bad thing. No way.
Just different. I've got tunnel vision.

And when I check out the flatwater bandits from time to time,,,
The boots always grab my attention.
Man, those boots are made for walking.
Air-walking.
They talk the walk.
They feel hard and they look hard.
Straps on freestyle sticks look like Jesus sandals.
Soft like a limpdick.
