Hey all.
I have been surfing, fishing all day in the sun scince I was 5.
Work out doors all day and kite all day when windy.
So yeah,I have had heaps of sun over the last 35 years of my life.(including 2 years surfing all day everyday around the islands in IndoHappy days, way too much sun though)
I have always drowned my face and the tops of my ears in sunscreen, but never the bottom of my ears.
Have just got a biopsie(spelling) done and it has come back positive

I now am about to get alot of my ears removed.

Just a warning to not only put sunscreen on the top of your ears, but all over the bottom of them to.

If you replie to this topic, please use capital letters(ie....yelling)so I can hear you with my lack of ears

My parents always warned me,but you always think, naaa Im fit and healthy, wont happen to me.............wrong

Might post some scary pics after the operation to scare yas to use heaps of sunscreen

Not worried so much of the loss of parts of my ear, more of the month or so out of the water..

Lotofwind, that's no good to hear. I hope you have a fast recovery. It is a good point to note - because of all the reflection from the water "underside" parts of your face can get burnt too. Classic case in point is that people go skiing/snowboarding and don't put sun screen under their chin and end up being burnt there.

Just goes to show I guess that you can take heaps of precautions and still not come away with a good results. Not that I condone not using sun protection...
