I was wondering if you share the same feelings?
I like to launch alot don't get me wrong, I can't seem to go up and down without at least 1 boost. But there are also times when I like to try Manuals, riding toeside and just slashing around or ride blind until someone is in your way. But there is only so much I can do until Im looking for something without much effort. cause after a while you start to get a bit weary tired or just simply bored.
I've been thinking of making a slider for those with a skate background, snowboarding or wakeboarding to bust out of the norm and catch up with the east coast. But I don't know If this would be a good Idea let alone a legal one, being that its another obsticle in the water. But if it's all legal and a benefit for the future of our sport here in WA. Im up for it!
I was wondering also If anyone would like to contribute on buiding a mobilised slider, one that we can all be proud of having and perhaps suggest a good place to have it.

just use pvc pipe i recon, jam a few into the sand n then a bunch of em tied together on top.
the other option is get a big old windsurfer board n prop that up n use.
good to see others think of these things too, my ideas must not be as weird as my girlfriend thinks.

a builder guy I know is making one right now. Two tubes and it will progress out of the water and then have a drop off. He was thinking of putting a sign on it that says "DO NOT USE!" so if anyone uses it they are in the wrong already?

Sounds good in theory. I want a rail that goes over the sand bank at point walter. how cool would that be?

I have got a pvc pipe about 8m long, 240mm Diameterand 10mm thich, It is really strong and would easily support the weight. (Its very similar to the pipes they use for the mains sewerage. I want to put it near the end of peli point, down wind of the windsurfers, I have been toying with the idea of making it fixed however think one that is floated on plastic drums may be better.

If it was to be anchored, what direction do you wish it to face?
I thought 45deg downwind, perhaps water level at the front and about a meter at the end? however I havent thought too much about it.

Will it be allowed to be kept in the river?

The biggest problem it too make it so big and heavy that marine and harbours cant pull it out, or make a light floating one that can easily be dragged in and hid in the bushes on teh point,

Are there any other better places.

what do you all think?

Hey why not alos make a picnic table using an old windsurfer board (the bigger the better) ...just jam on some legs. Like the one in the new Kiteboarder magazine and then you just ollie up onto it, plus it is coated and probably be able to slide on it really easily and it can be mobile. Or use a kicker to get up on it

Where's it gonna go though???

You can put a slider on pineroo point, sooo easy to unload onto beach from carpark and too many spots for it just north of the point where it would point directly down wind in a SWster

I wouldnt exactly say Pinnas is flat, the best spot would have to be woodies, out of the way from general public and super flat and super shallow.

A slider would be sick at woodies cause you can hav it in about a foot of water and really really close to the beach cause its offshore. Ill help if you need it ( particularley in testing)

Woodies is the ultimate, no dougt.. Awsome for steady winds, flat water and almost no public. I really think we wouldn't have much of a problem with athority there either.
Boys I have allready the frame made of metal and all the tool to build us an awsome starter slider. No doubt this would be addictive and I can almost see sliders poppin out of the woodwork, getting bigger and better. But this frame is strong and ready for PVC and not so high so no major damage can be done.. Touch wood.
I would be more than happy to donate this frame, my services and the place to build this..All we need is almurchs PVC and cautions leg and alot of enthusiastic sic freaks who charges to make it happen.
So we wont fight about the spot to put it, we'll keep an update in this forum of where it will be on day to day basis.
I can see some sic photos happening boys..
Who's Up for it then?

dont forget my leg too

im up for it for sure... my vote is for woodies though, no way in hell would the swan river trust let you do something like that at woodies and it would be near impossible to hide something at the point in the bushies with all the bird lover ppl wandering around abusing kiters as it is

crossing fingers im back on the water in a few weeks
