Both kites perform well in waves. Slingshot octane: Awesome in the larger sizes 13-11-9 just plug and play. the 13m relaunches like a dream in 10 knots. the 7 and 5 are also awesome but for beginners they are a little unstable when you don't know how to trim a kite properly.

Cabrinha Nomad. Rather gutless but the small sizes in good wind make these the go. the larger sizes are not cool, you need to fly a size up and the bigger ones dont relaunch that well. A 10m switchblade was better in the same conditions as the 13 Nomad.

For a pure waveriding kite (sorry to hijack the thread-thinking outside the circle) the Kahoona and the new V2 Kahoona are superior. In WA the 9.5 is the biggest size you need but the 7.5 and the new 5.5 are incredible. Constant slow pull through turns, huge depower and a kite that turns on a dime. They are a kite that you dont even think about when riding strapless, no need to massage a turn.

Other awesome surf kites I have tried are the Nobile kites, sooo fast double downloops are normal, and of course Waimans also rock.
