The southern end is A challenge even in a good NE wind due to the way Nobbys wraps around .the wind becomes quite onshore due to this and because of the headland is usually much lighter than up the northern end .So for visitors and noobs keep this in mind (and some of the more experienced amongst us who for some inexplicable reason haven't noticed this to stress the lifeguards out and continue ).it is usually best to head out in a line from the weather station and north (that pole that sticks up with the cups spinning around and don't be so bloody lazy and walk up a bit further if need be ) Also beware on really hot days like today with that weird inversion line with the ships appearing like they have sails .the wind has a fair bit of NW influence and can shut off in a heartbeat.Also there is more wind high so if you feel a drop off keep your kite high and work it hard high.
Remember that the lifeguards priority is swimmers and don't really want to retrieve kiters who should be able to rescue themselves and who shouldn't have got themselves in that situation (and for chrssake know how to self rescue ,if you don't find out how and practice)
Please note that this is a heads up and a bit of friendly advice and I have got myself in the poo in these types of winds and will probably embarrass myself in the future (and hopefully not endanger myself or others)
