fitted a 5th line system to my ss kites last week, had 2 kites on the weekend, the 2nd was at Inverloch on my 15m, the wind got up to 23 knots, with an incoming tide going against the wind. The cleat on my 5th line wouldn't hold i was that lit up, massive jumps though. I like the system for its depower qualities, I have only just got it so i have a question for those who have used the ss 5th line. Spinning twists the lines, if you hook the safety to the oh **** loop on the 5th line then you need to forward or backward in the opposite directions all the time to unwind, whereas my surefire was always untwisting.

Any tips??

you need a swivel or else it ****s up as you say. flexifoils new bar has a swivel.

this is a do it your self job. Bit hard to make unless you happen to have some mig gear on hand.

you'd reckon for $220 ss would include something that simple, i wonder if you could use the mickey mouse ears from the '05 line and bar set up to compensate?
