Hey joe
If your on the goldy come to the north and naish demo day there will be stand up paddle boards there to try. Also free tips on how to do it all if you have any trouble with it i think the dates are on www.seqka.com
Great sport and i'm sure if you kite you will love this for those none windy days. If You have any other questions or can't wait till the demo day give me a call or PM me and I'll get you out there for a go on mine. Surf Fx has them in stock at the moment and yes it is easy to learn the basics

Hey Joe
i had a go of a Mal when i first looked at sport and it was a lot harder to keep your balance when stopped and most of the time was spent in the water my opinion is to get one that is made for it it will pay off in the long run.

hey joe, using a mal is way to hard and not worth it, you need a proper sups board. even with the proper one i think you will find it harder than you first thought.
p.s. its a fun thing to do now and then but really not worth spending the money on when you could just go normal surfing, kiteboarding or skateboarding, these three things alone fill in all your free time.

Hi Joe,
We too are having a S.U.P Demo Day here in Caloundra on the 1st of September from 8am down at GoldenBeach and then out at Happy Valley latter in the morning.
If your on the Goldy check out the Naish North demo day it should be good.
I also have demo boards here in store ready to be used any time that suits you as well.
Cheers

It's funny peoples first responses to a new sport, I remember back when we were first starting to kiteboard, the comments we were getting from all he windsurfers, wakeboarders and surfers a like, about how faggy it was, and that we should all just go surfing, windsurfing or wakeboarding and stop wasting our time. Crazy how opinions change once people start trying it before rating it.
Sup's not going to be for everyone, but it is a lot of fun in crappy surf, alot more fun than you'll ever have on a std mal or surfboard, lpus it's great cross training for fitness. Check out the SUP forum under the surfing section here on seabreeze.
It all about spending as much time in the water as possible, doing what ever brings you the most giggles!
