but i have found theres normally a few kiters out booreen point (lake cootharaba) and wen the wind is up theres normally a few people doin downwinders from coolum to sunshine... or peregian beach to sunshine. If you just go down the beach and get talkin to them they are more than willing to give you tips and help out... once you are confident they will probably happily have you go along with them for a downwinder.
