Don't move the kite at all, park it, leave your hand in the middle(split the chicken loop line) while passing the bar to prevent any further steering of the kite. As soon as you pass the bar get the first hand back on to the bar as soon as possible to stop any further unwanted steering. Plus I usually do surface passes as soon as I land a trick such as a railey, so when you land you are heading downwind a bit, taking the pressure off the lines and then pass the bar. The slack in the lines prevents any unwanted steering. Complete the pass heading back upwind.
I've been doing (well every now and then, and more then than now, I can tell you) flat 3's and when I pass the bar I sometimes pass the bar and get it right on the end instead of the middle, sending it into a kiteloop, that aint fun I can tell you, especially if I catch an edge on landing. I swear my right arm is now longer than my left.
