I got a 12m vegas awhile back and absolutly love it, my 15 and 9 are feeling abit left out at the moment. But to everyone else out there who owns one, what do you think of the vario cleat?
The theory of it is great (adjustable chicken rope size), but IMO it sucks in practise. even with the bit of elastic on it , locking the rope in is damn near impossible compared to the old ladderlock system found on airush bars etc. the bloody thing twists away as you try to push the rope into the cleat and then when you think you have it you let go and it just slips out any way...
I find myself coming back to the beach to adjust the power with two hands.

I agree. It works okay until the rope starts to wear then it just won't stay in the cleat. I just adopted the tie a knot in it approach. The new 07 bar still has the cleat but they have upped the ante on the rubber band thing, looks sturdier, well it works for now but the bar is still new so I will have to wait and see how it goes in the future. I don't reckon that the quality of the North Bar and depower system matches that of the kite.

We were only talking about this cleat system the other day. It does not work and has become yet another problem with the North bar system; which for the money we pay for their kites is not good enough. Fix it North and stop with the B******t excuses. Your kites are good, boards are fantastic but your bars suck.

the 07 cleat works fine been using a new bar for about a month and no probs at all.
