The hunter coast from port stephens to swansea only gets about third of the seabreezes that most places to the north and south and therefore is too bloody frustrating .plus its overcrowded and too many poleys and kiters all trying to ride the same wave when there is a decent NE .The 'no kiting sign" has made its way further north than the weather station so now kiting is only possible in the top third anyway.full ban is probably just around the corner .
It is beyond me why anyone would drive to nobbys from around lake macqaurie when there are superior spots for riding wave and wind wise only 15 mins from swansea and away from the influence of the 'shut off westerlies" coming down the valley
BTW this is not an attempt to purge nobbys of kiters coming from afar .

For the record Mr Float,

Last summer was a total right off down here (at least for those of us with 9-5 jobs). I think I got skunked by afternoon storms more often then I got to sail, and when i did get to sail the wind was too north for plenty of spots more often than not. Mean while friends in Sydney had plenty of wind. Significantly different to the way it was 3 - 5 years ago when I first moved here. Here's hoping that this summer will be back to the good old days.

Pete.

Yep and up north here mostly southerlies, plenty of SUP surf time. Looks like this black NE is in for about two more days. Can't wait for Monday, kids at school, the wind should be early again tommorrow.
