There is a rumour going around Newcastle that I have opened a cafe on the Fernleigh track at the Adamstown end .This indeed is true .What is untue is that kiteworks and associated brands no lonnger exist as a result, and that they are up for grabs .The good thing about the Fernleigh cafe is that I now have a dedicated space for Kiteworks and Hunter Electric bikes as well (rather than my home and garage for the past 2 years and Amanda is happy that our house and garage are no longer full of the associated gear) .The other good thing is that I can get out of there at 2 pm on windy days for lessons and kiting and that my ugly mug will be a continued familiar thing on our beaches .(So stuff that in your pipe rumour monger and smoke it)

And after 2pm,,there are no staff left and you have to wait for an hour just too buy an over priced coke.

Yuppie cafe's,pfftttt, go to the local bakery after a session for a feed, no guys in lycra,cycling types with their lolly bags on show

Well, it does seem like pimping but Mr Float (whom I don't know) is having a go at a new business and this is your response!? Get a life mate. As a microbusiness-person I know a bit about the challenges and risks of going into business and I assure you it ain't no cakewalk. This may not be the best place for him to promote it but that's no reason to tear it down.

Australia needs entrepreneurs, not wet blankets.

I want to set the record straight .I have been selling kites and kitesurf gear since 96 .One of my suppliers was spun a line that I'm in the Cafe biz and out of the kitesurf biz which is only partly true .I have advertised here in the past and for wahtever reason have had no luck with a response to advertise a new line of my own kites here recently.(So no blatant pimpin the caf).

Dave S. aka Slingshot Dave left SS a while ago to run his own school/retail.
He is one of the great guys in the scene since day one, if you in that area do some p lessons beginner or progression with him, he is good.

Ha ha Lach, looks like you had some home brew with George and Japie, on the way up to port Stephens. I found some wicked bladder glue at bunnings. Cheap as chips, and looks like its gonna work a treat. Ill let you know. And yes Exmouth is now officially the best spot in Australia. (for me) for everyone else, its expensive and very, very sharky. I got my leg bitten off. Twice.
