just wondering how long do most kitesurfers spend in the water for one session? I guess the cooler the weather the less time u get.Or do sometimes you get 2 sessions a day?About two hours for me and i am ready for a feed and a drink, usually pretty stuffed by then anyway especially if its around 20 knots or so.

during summer i somtimes stay out on the water for almost 4 hours without having to come in for somthing to eat or drink, but in winter when the water temp gets down to 10 degress im lucky if i can stay out for half an hour before i cant feel my hands and feet.

When i lived up north i would realisticly kite at least 2/3 hours a day during the week, (god bless daylite saving's). I would quite often be packing up at 9.15pm at night. On the weekend i would kite at about 4 hours or untill i was absolutely ****ed. luckily nearly all of my mates kited as well, so i wasn't a social retard. Winter months were a drag, there was no wind what so ever for 6 months, although fishing and diving was good it was no substitute for kiting. I will admit my enthuisim for kiting put a big strain on my relationship. I have since moved to the South West WA not realising how good i had it up north, but must admit i haved never surfed as much as i have now.

Hey ex 2500,

A good topic. In my hey day I used to ride 2-3 hours a day as an average session. When in Hawaii I used to ride up to 6 hours a day when not working with a break in the middle for lunch!

Nowadays, I find I get as much if not more out of a really full on hour where I ride as hard as I can trying everything, going as hard as possible, as opposed to a 4 hour session where I ride at a more sustainable pace.

Don't ride as often as I used to with work, family and other interests, but I still love it!

Good winds,

During the summer holidays i would kite all day and last term after school for maybe 3-4 hours, but now daylight savings makes it hard to get a kite in for more than a hour. I do go down to the beach with people some days for the whole day but might only kite 6-7 hours!

Around 4 hours straight today at longy, but that was only because it was almost directly onshore wind, I was just about the only one along with 2 others to get through the break, got rather lucky with the waves though, so I didn't want to come back in because I'd have to fight my way back through the frothmonsters, was pushing myself hard too, practicing landings in that awesome chop .

Usually when pushing myself around 2 hours is enough before I need to readjust my harness and take a break, I think I'm going to end up with a deformed ribcage at the end of this all haha.
