so heres the plan
take 12 months off to go travelling australia in a station wagon
on top of all the stuff i'll be taking already, is it worth taking my kiting gear with me?
i'll be heading from perth, north across the top end so i was thinking it might be easier to just sell my gear and buy more when i get to queensland
thoughts, suggestions and experiences are all appreciated

Too many beaches would be missed in N. WA alone. Make room.

I did a 5 month trip from Melbourne - Darwin - Broome - Perth - Melbourne last year. Late May - Sept. Carried 3 kites and 2 boards. One session 25 kt easterly at Broome town beach. Nothing at Pt Sampson, Cossack, Exmouth. Two excellent sessions at Pelican Pt Carnarvon. Nothing at Gnaraloo. Session at Little Lagoon Denham. Nothing Kalbarri. Session at Geraldton. Nothing from there to Perth.
My timing was dictated by the nice dry weather and the fabulous things to see and do up there (other that kiting)


You are from WA so you know the season for North. WA. Oct - Feb to the best of my knowledge. Take your gear if that's when you will be in North WA. But it will be wet season!

Don't expect much wind or ocean of course on the trip East after Broome. (in dry season) Tides and crocs are a problem as well as lack of good wind.

When we holiday I pack the kite gear first and then let the family divide up the remaining space.

Be careful..... There are stone fish in Little Lagoon in Denham!

take your gear man, if you time it well youll get the best part of wa head to darwin area round dec - jan and hope to get the moonsoon steady to gusty westerlys, absolute epic sessions just recently. you will kill ya self if ya didnt
