gday reo users

i have an 8 and a 10 mtr reo
i ride only in the surf and ride my normal surfboards strapless

the rear lines have been shortend under the floats
This setup goes amazing on the 8
whilst on the 10 it seems to want to lift me of the board a little at times
i just read on a random post the 10 should be on the last knot (in turn making the lines longer)
any thoughts or preferences or do other peoples 10s do this to.
will also do the obvious and try the other setting but surf is to good rite now, sundys looking pritty good for a kite though.
should add am only new to the reos bought them 2nd hand compared to my old kite these things are awsome.
any other findings on the in and outs of them is welcome

A multi knot setting on your front pitails can finely tune your kite, I've used this to great effect on my edges and catalysts letting me on the water in seriously strong winds, also helps in reverse letting you maximize the wind, you can over do it a bit and risk stalling your kite, I've just used the provided tails and put a couple of knots at exact same positions

I am running all 3 kites on the longest line length. Trying the middle knot under the floats but personally have so far found the kites too stally for my liking. Will keep trying a few more times though.

Sounds like your front lines may have stretched?
Tune your bar - Sunnycost and bene313

When you connect to the knot under the floats thats closest to the bar, and if you have all 4 lines connected to a nail on a fence or a common point, then the lines should be equal with the chicken loop hard up against the bar (good for unhooked).
If your front lines are loose when you do this then your kite will be stally, solution is move the leaders to the next know further from the bar and re-check, still loose, then move to the last knot, if that does not trim your lines properly then you need pigtails added to your rear lines. Always tune to have all 4 lines equal on the knot closest to the bar.
In stronger winds, move the knot further away from the bar, no need to have pigtails at the kite end, too easy to adjust at the bar end.
BUT if your kite is stalling, the quick and easy fix is to pull the trimmer in a bit!!!

Agree with Kitepower. Front lines carry all the load & it's quite common to find them stretched to 100mm longer than rear lines. So forget about getting advice on which knot to use. After tuning the lines, it still comes down to the feel that suits you anyway.

Thanks Steve. Tried the 6m again yesterday in 20kn on the middle knot and still had to pull plenty of depower rope in to prevent stalling. I do fly with the bar pulled in a lot though.

I'll check the line lengths. With the Reos, the use of one bar on multi kites would surely exaggerate the line stretch.

the knot "closest to the bar" gives the longest length back lines doesnt it?
